La Foggia per bene piange la morte di Franca, vittima innocente del cancro che attanaglia e divora la città.
È uno dei messaggi lasciati davanti alla saracinesca della tabaccheria in Via marchese de Rosa a Foggia, la cui titolare 72enne Francesca Marasco è stata uccisa ieri mattina, quasi certamente durante un tentativo di rapina.
Una città sconvolta per quanto accaduto, una lavoratrice indefessa, una donna molto amata e conosciuta soprattutto nel quartiere. Storica la tabaccheria ora posta sotto sequestro, alla quale Francesca aveva dedicato tutto il suo tempo, aperta da decenni e gestita per anni con l’anziana madre scomparsa anni fa..
ieri mattina la riapertura, dopo il periodo di ferie, e qualche ora dopo aver tirato su la saracinesca del locale, è stata uccisa a coltellate.
A trovarla un cliente, distesa vicino all’ingresso attorno alle ore 13. Sul corpo i segni di tre o quattro fendenti.
L’uomo ha allertato i soccorsi, ma non c’era più nulla da fare. L’arma del delitto, un coltello insanguinato, è stato trovato a pochi metri, abbandonato dall’assassino in fuga.
Non è escluso che la vittima abbia provato a reagire al rapinatore, che non sarebbe riuscito nemmeno a raggiungere il registratore di cassa.
Si tratta solo di ipotesi in attesa delle indagini dei carabinieri, che stanno concentrando l’attenzione sui sistemi di videosorveglianza della zona e sul coltello.
“Conoscevo la signora Franca da 26 anni”, dice Maurizio, titolare di un negozio per parrucchiere da uomo che si trova a pochi passi dalla tabaccheria. “Era una signora sempre disponibile. Sono cresciuto qui. Non ci sono parole”, aggiunge.
Dello stesso tenore le parole di tante persone accorse sul posto. ” “Non è più possibile vivere in queste condizioni. Non ci sentiamo sicuri”, è il pensiero di alcuni giovani.
“Chi ha ucciso stamattina Franca Marasco ha tolto alla comunità foggiana una vita fatta di dedizione al lavoro e di gentilezza nei confronti di tante persone che, in queste ore, moltiplicano lo sconcerto e la rabbia per un gesto di barbarie che ha sconvolto tutti. Ognuno di noi, nella sfera pubblica come in quella privata, ha il dovere di contribuire al cambiamento che serve alla gente di Foggia per vivere serenamente la nostra città. A nome di tutti i pugliesi, esprimo la vicinanza e la solidarietà più affettuose ai familiari e agli amici”. Lo afferma il vicepresidente della Regione Puglia, Raffaele Piemontese, e “Per rimarcare l’atrocità del gesto e l’indignazione della comunità cittadina per questa ennesima insensata tragedia che non deve lasciare nessuno indifferente”, la commissione straordinaria del Comune di Foggia ha deciso di rinviare lo spettacolo del Foggia Estate.

The murder weapon, a bloody knife, was found after few meters by the fugitive killer. The victim probably reacted to the robber, who couldn’t reach the cash register. These are just hypothesis to be ascertained by Carbinieri investigations, who are focusing on the video surveillance systems in the area and the knife.
“I knew mrs Franca for 26 years” – says Maurizio, owner of a barbershop close to the tobacco shop – “She was always available. I’ve grown up here. We have no words for this”. Many other people reacted in the same way, some youngsters affirmed: “It’s not possible to keep living in these conditions. We don’t feel safe”.
Whoever killed Franca Marasco this morning took from the community of Foggia a life of dedication to work and kindness towards many people who are now shocked and angry for this act of barbarity. Everyone, both in public and private life, should contribute to the necessary change of people in order to live peacefully.
The vicepresident of Apulia affirms: “On behalf of all Apulian people, I express my most affectionate closeness and solidarity to her family and friends”. Moreover he wants to emphasize the atrocity of the gesture and the community indignation towards this meaningless tragedy that shouldn’t be ignored.
