Sono passati 520 anni dall’evento, sospeso tra leggenda e realtà, che vide scontrarsi i cavalieri italiani, sotto l’egida del potere spagnolo, e cavalieri francesi, in un duello destinato ad esser ricordato per sempre. Il Comune di Barletta, la Città della Disfida, rievoca ogni anno con pregio e orgoglio la battaglia cavalleresca rinascimentale, simbolo sempre attuale di riscossa e risveglio dell’identità di un popolo oppresso.
L’edizione di quest’anno presentata all’aeroporto di Bari, punta all’internazionalizzazione e a sedimentarsi nella memoria dei cittadini, con la direzione artistica dei suoi esperti registi.
Un programma fittissimo, esteso in un’intera settimana, dal 3 al 10 settembre, che taglia il nastro inaugurale a parco dell’Umanità domenica alle ore 17 con ‘’Il Cavaliere del C’era una Volta’’ e la storia della vestizione del cavaliere; parallelamente nel centro storico si correrà con l’ASD Barletta Sportiva in una Carrera della Sfida.
Un momento di relax per ritrovare la concentrazione e affrontare le sfide quotidiane è previsto per martedì 5 nei bastioni del castello, dove protagonista sarà l’onda del respiro.
Approfondimento storico e ricostruzioni accurate del Rinascimento italiano saranno oggetto delle attività del Gruppo storico Brancaleone;
Nella Chiesetta di S. Michele, aperta in via eccezionale, la vita e gli insegnamenti di Massimo d’Azelio saranno narrati dal docente Ruggiero Doronzo.
Un crescendo di appuntamenti sarà protagonista di questa edizione, caratterizzata da attività, storie di cavalieri erranti, musica, danza e teatro, cortei itineranti fino a culminare con la temuta ‘’Offesa’’ vis a vis tra francesi e spagnoli venerdì 08 settembre in piazza Monsignor Damato.
L’attesissimo Certame Cavalleresco ritorna con la sua magnificenza nei fossati del Castello, con volti noti del cinema italiano impegnati in un duello avvincente con scene da brivido a cavallo.
Uno spettacolo che non termina con le armi; dopo il tradizionale ringraziamento dei Cavalieri vittoriosi italiani alla madonna della Assunta in Cattedrale, il ‘’Te Deum’’, il corteo trionfale sfilerà in strada, riportando la città indietro nel tempo, tra sbandieratori e Stendardi in alto, cavalieri e dame dal carattere tenace.
La notte dell’antica contesa, infine, si riempirà di musica e colori alle ore 22.30, con un videomapping sugli spalti del castello, con uno spettacolo piromusicale emozionante.
Disfida di Barletta. The eternal symbol of the city.
520 years ago, hanging between legend and reality, Italian knights under the Spanish rule challenged French knights in a duel destined to be rembered forever.
Barletta, known as the city of the Disfida, every year proudly celebrates this Renaissance chivalric battle, always a current symbol of redemption for the identity of an oppressed population.
This year’s edition presented at Bari airport under an expert artistic direction, aims at the internationalization of the event and its memory by citizens.
A thick plan of an entire week, from the 3rd to the 10th of September, which will begin in the Umanity Park on Sunday at 5pm with the “Knight of Once upon a time” and the knight’s clothing story. At the same time in the historic centre with the assosiation ASD Barletta Sportiva there will be a competition.
The day of Tuesday 5th focuses on relaxing moments to regain concentration and face everyday challenges with activities organized on the caste’s bastions by the Onda del Respiro association. There will also be historical insights and accurate reconstructions with activities of the Brancaleone group and in the church of San Michele, opened only for this event, Massimo d’Azelio teachings will be discussed by the teacher Ruggiero Doronzo.
Many events organized by this year’s edition between activities, stories of wandering knights, music, dance theatre and parades until, on Friday 8th, reaching the peak with the dreaded “Offense” between Italian and French knights face to face in piazza Monsignor Damato.
The long-awaited Certame Cavalleresco, the famous horseback battle, will come back in all its glory in the castle moat with familiar faces of the Italian cinema giving us goosebumps.
A show that will not end with a battle because, after the traditional “Te Deum” in which the knights express their gratitude towards the Virgin Mary, the triumphant procession will parade through the city, bringing it back in time between flag-throwers, high banners and proud knights and matrons.
To conclude, the night of the ancient dispute will be full of music and colors and at 10:30 pm there will be a videomapping on the caste battlements and a firework show accompained by music.
